Zettelkasten and Evergreen notes connection β†’ overview β†’ branching

Evergreen notes should be atomic - clipping, which means they are per definition small. To make them more useful we should link them to other notes (there is understanding in the combination of ideas).

Every note has its own context (Notes need to be atomic because all external context is lost), but linking them to another note gives it extra context, and enlarges its usefulness and application.

Thinking about other notes to link to, makes us carefully consider the contents of a note. Looking at a note from different angles helps with Elaborative encoding, thus better understanding and remembering the note. True understanding is understanding the limits (borders) of a text, and then having the ability to look beyond.

Also see bi-directional linking, which makes it easier to find related notes.

All these plusses are missed when the only relationship between notes is sharing a tag categories make terrible keywords
